Songs I Luv : Thuli Thuli from Paiyaa

Hi all

Recently i thought that i would aggregate my favourite songs and put it as my playlist , but i thought instead of that, i would select a song , which i love most and describe the best part of the song , which particular line or tune i like in it so that you all can also experience the ecstasy like me. For me music is deeply intertwined with my life.  That’s because of the constant encouragement and support from my family and also my friends. Anyway shall we get into the world of my music..

Today my selected song is “Thuli Thuli “from Paiyaa. Recently it was nominated as the top song so far in 2010 my Behindwoods.com. Previuosly i used to love yuvan , he had all the variety in the start , but as time passed , i started seeing more remix from his father’s songs and less variety . but as usual , the world is round and this time he has came with a big bang. This song is full of love and backed my the strong lyrics, this one song is to be heard a thousand times, thanks again for the superb lyrics by Na. Muthukumar

Song is sung by haricharan. The song starts with a good beat and slowly takes into the main song. Haricharan voice is excellent and particularly in one place which is will tell you a little later. Before going, here is the lyric of the song.

The background beat and use of instrument is excellent. Even though i don’t know carnatic , but i used to sing lots of songs. So as a non carnatic person , and as person like you , i know how difficult it is sing certain part of the song. For carnatic experts , those may be a cakewalk , but for day today life , especially when you don’t have a music player , you become the singer and your mind becomes the virtual instrument player.

The song hits the high note in the middle..and rapidly followed by another high . As a casual singer, hitting two high successively is a bit difficult , unless otherwise you want to stop for a few seconds and take the right pitch and take on the second high… anyway its all easy if you start the first high a little lower , so that the second high can be covered with the rest of the breath and don’t have to peak again .  But anyway if you try to sing the two peaks continuously, i am sure the voice will have to break a little on the second high.. it’s that high and yuvan is always known for his highs..

The best part of the song is not the tune or the singer … its the lyrics. The most romantic lines i have heard in the recent times. It really shows how much a love can do and willing to do. Even though all the line are just metaphor , they are all beautifully woven together to give a nice romantic feel

Kanchivaram – Diamond among rocks !!

Hi all ,

Happened to watch Kachivaram movie today and it was a experience to be treasured.. As i have been to Kanchi Kudil in Kanchipuram once , thanks to a special person.So i really was able to feel people portrayed in this film, their day to day activities , utensils , lifestyle , dressings.Picture is set in 1948 where Land Lords are the rulers and its the time when communism is buddying in India. As usual i am not going to go through the story and break the suspense’s , even though there are no suspense’s in this film ( there goes my SPOILER!! LOL ) . Prakash Raj acting excels throughout the movie and no one can ever touch him in his arena of acting ! Expression , the untold sorrows , unanswered facial expression , and he tops everything off in the last few minutes of the movie. But all praise should go for Priyadarshan , who has selected a out of way script and drew a wonderful picture.

Camera excels in almost all scenes , a scene where his face , a tree and the dusk was just a painting!. Whole film is full of beautifully painted stills. Background music is a pillar to the movie , particularly the the song for the new born child is simply cute melody to any child ears ! The carnatic and use of instrument for the background is also perfect , not crossing beyond the pre-independence era. The music rightly fits into the movie , not much , not less… just perfect!

All cast played to their script and it has come out extraordinarily well .. Shriya Reddy , Shammu ( Thamarai ) , have did their part to the best.

Taking the story part , its set in Pre-Independence era and gradually moves into independence era, but actually in the reverse though … see the movie !!  The Land Lord era were horrible and this picture cant explain it any more clearly to depict how bad those times were.Particularly when the deal goes between the LandLord and the English Dura… Land Lords using the poverty stricken people for their profit and how communism brought into this small place changes is the background of the movie , real story lies in the not so lucky Prakash Raj and his Nesavali life. Love in hte right amount , care in the right amount , anger  , dream , family .. everything in right proportion , not much , not less !

Its really horrible to see how the people who work cant even taste the end result of their work , not alone in this film , but also in reality . Men and women work hard and they never reap the fruit …

The location and scenic beauty of the film is something you can watch again. the scenes shot in the night are very clear , not hindering the true nature of the shot . To say the truth , half of the movie is taken on the horizon .. Kudos for Sabu Cyril for his extraordinary art direction and also for S. Tirru for his awesome camera which captured every single color of the shot….

When good movies are reducing to unspeakable numbers , film like these are the ones which stand tall and say , ” There is still hope ! ”

Thanks Priyadarshan for giving Tamil cinema a rare piece of diamond !

Never in my life i have went through such a terrible phase on 5-4-x..

I have decided never to go through it again .. if situation arises , i am ready to give a good fight before going down.

Really cant Get time for writing article ..

Anyway things are somewhat back to normal , all rose due to a simple misunderstanding … atleast thats what i think..

If things go well .. i will beef up this blog and start spending time to write few good articles..

Planned to write one on “My A.R Playlist ” , “X10 – Xperia ” , “Road for Future – 2 ” and an article on “PS3 Scene ”

Planned to give away few gifts and conducting few contest if things go well for me… lets see…

Anyway all this if things go well , if not … i will be closing this blog once n for all…..
